I want to say first off that I am happy Bloomington has a nice facility. I am a bit concerned about the fact that their hours are ridiculous at best! If the hours are contingent upon volunteers then I say those of you who are able to get out there and volunteer at this great place!then do it! don't put it off another minute!. You will meet some pretty special people who deeply care for animals and you'll encounter some very special animals as well! Who knows! you may even end up going home with a new family member!
Aside from some inconvenient hours I would say plus 10 in my book!

The Bloomington Animal Shelter is a wonderful organization, and a great place to adopt an animal. We went in there on a night that they are open late, to adopt a puppy. The staff was super friendly to us, and gave us great advice about dogs and children, since we have a small child. They let us take all the time in the world to pick out a dog and make sure that it was the right one for us. One of the staff members came in and gave us a little seminar on how to take care of the dog, and we were told where to go to get great deals on animal products, because several local businesses work with the animal shelter. It was a wonderful experience, and we now have a great dog!!
